I just got the Office 2004 upgrade, and Entourage was the program I was most
looking forward to. I have to say I am a bit disappointed, but I am hoping
an Entourage Maven may be able to tell me if I am going wrong somewhere.
1. HTML mail. When I scroll down a message, I seem to be getting quite bad
refresh problems - the last line or so of the message is "slurred" down over
the newly revealed space, like a bad TV effect from the '70's. The only time
I have ever seen this before is on IE 5.5 on the PC. It's very annoying. Is
this an Entourage issue or is MS telling me my first gen 12" PB is getting
old?
2. Connected with that, I do find Entourage 2004 noticeably slower than
Entourage v.X. It's fine, it's just not slick. I use IMAP mail for .Mac and
while it's doing its thing - or if I am having the HTML problem above - I
sometimes can't do anything else.
3. I still manually drag my vCards to Address Book for iSync etc. I did this
with a file recently and noticed in the Notes field once in Address Book a
string of letters and numbers. It looked a bit like a serial number, though
it was not in fact my serial number. I am a little alarmed at the
possibility of some kind of unique identifier being attached to my
attachments (fine - of course if I want to send things to people presumably
I am happy for them to know who I am but still...). It is repeatable, and
the data describes itself as "UID:" - it is only added when there is data
in the Notes field. What is it and why is it there? It is not in my
Entourage file and I have not seen Address Book add this before.
Thanks for any help.
