Html messages crash entourage - Entourage 2004 Mac OS X.4.1

When trying to go to the next message after viewing an html message
entourage hangs and crashes.
Interestingly, Microsofts error reporting app also crashes simultaneously so
no error report is sent.

Try updating to the latest version of Entourage and see if that helps.

Oops, sorry.

I note you are running the latest version.

In that case, try a database rebuild, it is possibly a sign of early
corruption.

Thanks Barry,
I did a rebuild and it is still crashing after opening an html msg.
Do you have any other ideas? Is it possibly a font issue?

I've also recently been getting a LOT of crashes in Entourage with osx
10.4.1. I didn't make the connection with HTML emails though... Also, a
coworker of mine just reported getting similar crashes with 10.4.1.

How can I tell if an email is an html email vs regular text or vs
special MS formatting?

I took the following steps and I seem to have corrected the issue.

1. Rebuild and compact database
2. Resolve font conflicts in Font Book. This may have been the problem.
When you install these programs duplicate fonts are activated and left
unresolved. I manually turned off all duplicate fonts.
3. Installed the Microsoft update for Office 2004.
