Hyperlink Formatting Stopped Working

My hyperlinks, which were always formatted correctly, suddenly appear as:

{HYPERLINK "http://www.xxx...."}

I do have a sinking feeling that i mistakenly deleted an entry in the
automatic replace table, which i entered from word options, formatting,
autocorrect. although the check box under autoformat still has 'replace with
hyerlink' checked.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Press Alt+F9 to toggle the display from the field codes (which is what
you're seeing) to the field result.

Yes!, not sure how in untoggled it, but all is well.
