Hyperlinks being oddly formatted

T

Tick

Hi There,

I hope someone can help me with this because it's driving me mad.

The other day Word started formatting my hyperlinks in a really odd fashion and also refuses to display them as active links.

If I paste an address in directly from the address bar of Interent Explorer it just ends up as plain text, but if I copy and paste a hyperlink it ends up like this:
{ HYPERLINK "http://uk.news.yahoo.com/040710/325/exq4s.html" }

I tried using the help system in Word but none of the suggestions seemed to help and I even went as far as uninstalling Word and reinstalling it again, but absoutely nothing changed.

I don't know what this implies but any help will be very much appreciated.

Regards,
David.

Hi, Tick. In Word, click on Tools | Autocorrect Options | Autoformat As You Type tab | check the "Internet and network paths as hyperlinks" box.
