hyperlinks dying -quickly

Please,please,please can someone tell me how to stop my hyperlinks dying.Yesterday i very carefully set up several.I checked them and the y allworked.I go back today and get the error message telling me they can't be opened.
This has happened many times beforeand is very frustrating so any help would be much appreciated
