I cannot send replies, only new messages

For the last week or so I can only send new messages. All replies get
returned with error message -3280. What's up with that? I have checked
outgoing mail server...and anyway I can send new messages...hmmm.

From error page:

This behavior can occur if a damaged message on your e-mail server prevents
access to the rest of your e-mail.

First try using Online access to delete the corrupt message.

Go to Tools/Accounts/that account/Edit/Options. Check "Allow online access".
That puts an icon of your account in the Folder List.

Click on the account
icon. You're now looking at the messages on the server. Usually, it's the
oldest message listed.

The Error -3280 refers to Error 16999
