Movie inserts without problem. Movie plays on movie player. However, when I
double click movie, powerpoint hangs and a scratchy green square appears over
1/4 of the window and obscures part of the ppt presentation. Need to get out
using task manager.

Don't double-click the movie, just single-click it (or set it to play
automatically).

Thanks. Only problem now is that when it starts automatically a black screen
appears. Hope you can help. P

Peter,

Just a suggestion... Give the PFCMedia add in to PowerPoint a try. It will
cure most of these sorts of problems. (Download the free trial from

What Austin said, Peter. That's going to be the easiest resolution here, I
think.

I was having same problem. Try slowing down hardware acceleration speed.
Desktop, Properties, Settings, Advanced, Troubleshooting........I had to move
it 3 spaces to the left for mine to work.
