I Can't Sync the Calendar "Locations" from Entourage to Palm?

H

Let me make sure I understand this...

1) The calendar in Palm has a field for locations of events.

2) The calendar in Entourage (2001) has a field for locations of
events.

3) It is possible to sync events.

but...

4) It is not possible to sync the locations.

Am I right? How can this be? It seems such a minor thing. Hasn't
Microsoft or Palm come up with a remedy for this?

No it doesn't. Or rather only if you have one of the new Tungsten Palms with
Palm OS 5.

Palm went for 9 years without adding event categories. There's a 3rd-party
add-on called Datebook5 that can emulate the syncing of categories. That's
what you need. I think you can get to a Palm Add-on page from the Palm
website.

Finally last year, Palm introduced event categories (and a second postal
address for contacts, etc.) for its OS 5. But they never bothered to tell
the Macintosh part of MS. (The Windows-Outlook part was taken care of by
Palm or its licensees.) So MacBU did not find out until Entourage 2004 was
coming out and it was too late. It's most certainly too late for an ancient
version like 2001. Undoubtedly the next version will have a way.

For now, get Datbook5. Make sure it can work with Palm OS 5, if that's what
you have.

PLEASE always state which version of Microsoft Office you are using -
**2004**, X or 2001. It's often impossible to answer your questions
otherwise.

Thanks for the reply Paul. Apparently, datebook is available at
datebk5.com. It's $24.95 which is about 1/5 the cost of the damned
Palm Pilot in the first place. Unfortunately, I really need to be able
to sync locations since I'm always going different places. This will
be my first third party software.

That said, I may buy a new iMac in which case, I won't be using the
Entourage part of Office, but will be using iCal instead. I presume
there's no hitch there.

Thanks again for the reply.
