I can't view pictures in Publisher 2002

I've tried all of the posted solutions:
View - Pictures - Detailed Display
Tools - Macro - Security - Trusted Sources (though no Add-Ins appear)
And I've also played with my screen display. It's a brand new computer and
everything else that uses imported pictures works just fine (FrontPage, Word,
etc)
What else can I do?

Do you have all the XP Office service packs?
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/CD010224911033.aspx

Are you getting an error when you insert the picture?
You receive an error message when you view a page that contains a graphic in
Publisher 2002
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;892418

Are these pictures from the Internet?
Might clear your cache, in IE, tools, Internet Options, delete files.

Did you have another version of Office installed on your computer?

Have you checked to see if you have the latest driver for your video adapter. Even
though the computer is new the driver may be outdated.

Thanks Mary

Since I posted I found a solution elsewhere in the bulletins that advised
sliding the Hardware Acceleration scale to the left which appears to have
done the trick. I will just have to see whether any other functionality has
been altered.

If turning down the hardware acceleration works, thten it means that there
is a problem with your video drivers.

Turning down hardware acceleration is designed to be a temporary solution
until you get some wokring video drivers that solve the problem permanently.
