I Hate My Mac

I think I'm probably alone here.

Here are my issues I want to vent.

Non compatible software. They sold it to me saying all would be fine. It's a happy world and if you can get it for a windows you can get it for apple. not.
Simply moving files from Outlook was a royal pain. things still aren't right.

The help desk sucks. Sorry but a 50 minute wait is not acceptable.

piles of other little issues that drive me nuts like when the expose thingy just stops working and I have to reboot.

I'm pot committed at this point after purchasing all the extra crap (like an extra power cord for $90- gimme a break) and now I'm looking at windows for mac. sheesh....

Am I the only one?????

If you'd like help with Entourage then please ask an Entourage question.
If you'd like help with another application then please ask in a
newsgroup or forum appropriate for that application.

If you'd like to express a constructive opinion about something that
would either help Microsoft improve Entourage or help others evaluate
its usefulness for them then please do so. Likewise, if you'd like to
post constructive criticisms about other products then do so in
newsgroups or forums appropriate to those products.

If you'd like to vent then please do that where it's appropriate to the
topic of the forum or newsgroup. Your post is not relevant here and only
causes clutter among the thousands of other messages that genuinely
belong here.

No, I hate PeeCee's for the same reasons. Nothing works like it does
on a Mac, bad tech support, false promises, always have to buy some
other piece to make it work right (especially all the virus software
needed on a PeeCee)...

You¹re not alone, but I spent way too much money on it when you include
Office for Mac, and Parallels and Windows XP Pro. to give up on it.

Don¹t bother telling me this is the wrong group. Entourage is a piece of
worthless software and is the reason I¹m unhappy with the MAC.

I¹m sorry, but that¹s idiotic. Don¹t complain about the whole Mac platform
because of one application. Apple doesn¹t make Entourage, Microsoft does.
So direct the criticism where it correctly belongs: With Microsoft using
the Feedback mechanism. Not here. It¹s really just creating noise whining
in a forum where people are trying to solve problems.

If you have a specific problem, ask for help. If you have ideas how to
solve a problem, share it. This is not the place to cry into your beer.
That said, I hope things work out for you. We all have some issue or stake
with Entourage or we wouldn¹t be here. But focus on the solution not the
problem so that we don¹t have to grief over this any more than necessary.

On 1/20/08 4:02 PM, in article C3B9210D.96B4%[email protected],

Entourage is an email and calendar program, not an organizer like
Outlook. It may do part of what Outlook does, but it is not a full
replacement. M$ never said it was.

The problem is that people expect Office for Mac to do everything that
Office Premium does. The Mac version is closer to the bottom of the
line PeeCee version (no Access either).

Frankly, I hate Outlook. Entourage fits my needs a lot better, except
for the lack of being able to forward HTML emails with my comments
attached (which is an email editor problem).

I wouldn't characterize Office for Mac as not being "premium." It has
features Office for Windows does not. It's not better or worse, it's just
different.

Access either).

Don't like this characterization either. It is not bottom of the line.
There's no access because Microsoft recognized early on that FileMaker is 10
times the program that Access will ever be, and there's no point trying to
compete.

I have recently migrated from Win based PC using Vista Business to Mac. I am really happy with that, and I love using the Mac OS though it is my first time to do so after using Microsoft for the last 13 years.

I do believe that you have been misguided, and you can't compare Win to Mac OS. when it comes to the commonly used applications you will always find a Mac version and also a Win version.

it is a fact that Win applications are packed with features to a certain extend, but do you really use all? If you look at speed , security and stability then you have the best using Mac, the least I could say I do not have to use the Windows famous 3 R formula, "Reinstall, Restart, Reboot" whenever an application crashes..

if you are not happy with an application try to look for another one. for me I have office 2008 still I am using Thunderbird and not Entourage as an email client because I do believe it is the best for me and to my understanding better than others. With office 2008 still using word, Excel and Power Point.

Best wishes to find the answer you are looking for sorting your issues.
