I have Office 2000 however I cannot access Word I get an error mes

I had Office 97 and oneday I was not able to access Word. I was still able
to use excel, powerpoint etc. However, whe I tried to access Word my
computer screen would go black and word would come up only to give a error
message. I could not open any word documents sent to me as well. I loaded
Office 2000 and I am still experiencing the same thing.
