I lost Name field entries in Project.

I have a relatively simple MS Project file I've created with about 130 tasks.
I opened it the other day and about 70% of the values I typed into the Name
field were missing. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Miker,
First let's ask the obvious questions. Is a filter applied? If so, apply
the "all tasks" filter. Where are the blank task names occurring, at the
end, middle or beginning? Expand the width of the Task Name field. Do
the names now show up? If so, you either have leading spaces in the name
entry or the outline level is pushing the name beyond the column width.

One quick thing you might try is to go to Tools/Options/View tab and
select the option to "show project summary task". Collapse that task and
then re-expand it.

John,

Thanks for your response, but your suggestions didn't help. The Name fields
are empty. When I open the Task Information box, the Name field has nothing
in it.

It seems to have happened randomly. Different kinds of tasks, different
constraints, different resources, not a range of ID's. I'm going to start
entering the task names in again, but I want to make sure I don't loose them
again.

Mike,
You might have some file corruption. Assuming that may be the case I
would try to clear that before going ahead and re-entering the data. Go
to our MVP website at: http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm
and take a look at FAQ 43 - File Bloat? Might be corruption.
