I need a formula that will look up and count specific instances.

Hey all=). Basically I need a formula that will look in a single colum and
say for instance look up how many occurances of the number 10 there are and
return that as a value. so say I use the formula for column G and there are 5
cells that have the number 10 in it, then that would return the value of 5.

For a range of cells...

=COUNTIF(G1:G100,10)

For the whole column...

=COUNTIF(G:G,10)

Hope this helps!
