I need to register my software.

I bought a computer off ebay and want to verify that the
software can be registered to me. How can I register the
software. The seller sent me a disk when I insisted.
I'm not sure if it is the original disk for the software
that is actually installed or not. Anyway, it is a
volume discount program and so I cannot get free
microsoft support with it. It is a program for
students. How can I register this with Microsoft?

Do you mean "Register" or "Activate"? If it's "Register" then don't bother -
it doesn't mean anything.
