I need to select certain slides from a power point presentation without the ability to edit it.

Hiya,
I need to be able to give a powerpoint doc to a bunch of 'reps' who
will be able to select the slides they wish to show and then run a
cut-down version of the presentation. They will be selecting the
slides depending on the customer they are talking to.

If is very importent that they can't edit the slides/presentation but
only be allowed to select which slides to show.

I saw an app, PointCapture, which did this except that it made a new
powerpoint presentation from the selected slides that had no password
protection on it.

Does anyone have any ideas?

If you know in advance which slides they will need for different purposes,
you could use Custom Shows. Put each set of slides into a custom show. Then
have your first slide contain links to each of the custom shows. Each rep
just has to click on the appropriate link.
