I want to capture the high value of a cell

I am trying to have a spreadsheet look at whether someone was present o
certain days. We have a master list and a daily list. We take th
daily list and add to the master list and want to capture if the perso
was there on which days. I have a spread sheet with the dates acros
top and compare against today so that the value will change for th
person on the day he is here but of course the next day this date goe
away.
So I am trying to catch the maximum value for a cell even when i
returns to zero. If not possible what about a macro that would chang
the cell from a formula to the value 1 when its value is no longe
zero.
Any ideas. Your help is appreciated.

Sounds like you need a macro for this. Maybe an event macro that fires when
you workbook is closed, and copies the data from the daily list to the master
list.
