I had to reinstall Office 2004 today, because Excel appeared to have
become corrupted. It now works fine, but the new version of Entourage
keeps telling me that "This identity cannot be opened on this version
of Entourage". This new version is exactly the same as the previous
one, installed from the same CD, so what is going on?

Unfortunately the "Notes" and "Tasks" folders were full of valuable
info that I can't afford to lose.

hi, I had a similar problem when I reloaded Entourage in order to try
and get the options working (as auto date formatting and linking of
contacts with emails did not work - they still don't!). I checked for
updates, downloaded and installed them and the identity message did not
re-occur. Any updates would have been wiped when you re-installed and
there is obviously something missing from an identity which has been
created with an updated version of office. Hope this works for you!
