Identity Database HELP

I had to re-installed my office 2004 and in dong so I am not able to
retrive all of the Entourage data that is in the copy of the original
identity database.

There was no import of the old database available after re-installing
office and dropping the files into the Main Identity folder creates
the error "This identity cannot be opened with this version of
entourage".

How do I retrive or sync the data from the old database?

It sounds like you did place the identity into the right place. You
probably just need to apply the updates for Office 2004. Some of the major
updates changed the database format slightly, so the one you saved should be
accessible once your copy of Office is up to date. Download and install the
latest Office 2004 updates, which are the Office 2004 11.3.5, 11.3.6,
11.3.7, 11.3.8, & 11.3.9 updates.

In Office 2004, use Microsoft AutoUpdate to get the latest updates.
Manually launch Microsoft AutoUpdate from the Applications folder. If any
updates are needed, they will display in a sheet, at which point you can
check them and press the "Install" button to download and install them. You
may need to check for updates after installing multiple times to make sure
you get them all.

Updates can also be found at the Microsoft web site:

Following the un-install procedure for office 2004, I un-installed
office 2004, re-installed it and applied all of the updates (11.3.5,
11.3.6,
11.3.7, 11.3.8, & 11.3.9) listed in the Mickey Stevens responce above.

I still get the error message "This identity cannot be opened with
this version of entourage".

I still need HELP, I do not want to lose the information in the
identity database.

This message is only tied to Entourage not being updated. It would seem that
the updates weren't successful.

Under Entourage in the menu bar select "About Entourage". Does it show
v.11.3.6?

No, the version that is displayed is 11.0.0.

This is a bit strange in that I have install all of the current
updates.

That's why you are getting the error.

It's possible you are updating a second copy of Office on your computer and
not the actual copy you are using. Do a search of Microsoft Office and see
what you find.

When you run the updater it gives you the opportunity to find copies of
Office to update. Be sure to select the correct one. It's advised not to
have multiple copies of Office, but with multiple volumes and drives with
backups that's not possible.
