Identity deleted ... Any help ??

Jack Morgan

Well, I guess that I am cooked, but just in case someone here can help...
Totally by accident, I deleted my Main Identity in Entourage, and never
believed that I would need to backup that folder, so didn't. (Dumb !! )
Entourage somehow had switched my identity, and when I tried to switch back
to my Main Identity, I somehow deleted it instead. I am using Mac OSX
10.2.6, and Entourage v. 10.1.4 service release 1.

I am in big trouble !!! !

Is there any possibility of recovering that data ?? I have lost my very
extensive mailbox, all of my saved messages for the past two year, as well
as several stacks of messages related to current projects ????

HELP !!!!!!!!!!! PLEASeeeeeeeeeeeee !!!

(I'll pay your rent for the next five years !!)

Hi Jack,

If you did, in fact, hit delete and then say okay when asked if you really
wanted to delete; and if you did this when your Main Identity was selected
in the Switch Identity dialog box, then I'm afraid your Main Identity is
gone.

There may be people that can try to recover your data, I really don't know.
You can search Google to see what you come up with.

Sorry not to be of more help.

It's possible you hit the Delete button instead of OK.

Making backups of important data is the most important thing you can do. I
suggest you create a task to remind you. I backup every three days and leave
mail on server for 3 days so I'm covered. I also keep archived copies of my
identity in case corruption has occurred that is not yet obvious.

DataSaver could possibly recover you email, but that costs hundreds of
dollars.
