Identity error message on open

K

Kevin

I began to have crashes and strange problems with Office X on my
Powerbook, so I completely removed Office, as per the instructions on
the website, and re-installed it. I installed all the updates as well.
My Entourage email was working fine prior to the re-install.

Now, when I try to open my previous identity, I get this error
message:

"This identity cannot be opened with this version of entourage."

The old and new versions were identical.

I copied the entire identity folder to another Mac, with the same
version of Office/Entourage installed, and tried to open it there and
got the same message. It seems that somehow the database got corrupted
- or mislabeled.

I tried a basic and advanced rebuild of the database. The basic
failed, the advanced seemed to work, but I still get the same message.

I've re-installed Office again and also repaired/checked permissions.

What can I do to save all my email?

I can only suggest that you try to install the updates again - check that
this file:
Macintosh HD/Applications/Microsoft Office X/Office/Microsoft
ComponentPlugin
Is at 10.1.5
