identity problem

Processor: Intel
Email Client: pop

I have two identities and e mail from one arrives on the identity page for the other (but not other way around).

I think the problem has to do with my putting the same "account id" for the second account that I put in the first. But if I put the "account id" for the second account--which I believe should be what the email address is without what comes after the @--it fails to log on .

So...what do you think?

Thanks

By default, POP will download and delete. Have you enabled one or both
accounts in the different identities to leave messages on the server?

Each identity can have (almost) any number of accounts. Each account is
associated with a distinct email address than can be used to send and/or
receive mail, but all mail is stored in the same database, all calendar
events are common to all the accounts, all notes & contacts are shared.

You can have multiple accounts in Entourage. Examples: POP, IMAP, Hotmail,
Gmail, AOL, Exchange, news accounts.

You do not need two Identities for your accounts.

Hope this helps!

Is it possible to have 2 POP accounts in same identity with separate inbox?

Yes, but you would need to create a Rule that sends each account to it's own
Inbox.

Account Is (select account from popup)

Move Message to Inbox Account A

See this page for Inbox views:

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq_topic/inbox.html>

You might want to consider moving your emails based on type or category
rather than just dumping everything into an Inbox.

There are 3 different kind of rules in Entourage:

Mailing List Manager (MLM)
Junk Mail Filter
Rules (custom rules you create)

They run in the order listed above. The custom rules also run in the order
they are listed. (top runs first)

Use the MLM for all lists. Use rules for the remainder. Try to use
categories instead of individual addresses when possible. When a new address
is added to a contact in the Address Book then it will automatically be
acted on by the rule if you use categories in your rules. See example:

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/rules/example/rule002.html>

Each type of account has it's own rules. Click on the correct tab to check
your rules. (Mail (POP), Mail (IMAP) Mal (Windows Live Hotmail) Mail
(Exchange), News, Outgoing)

See "Using Rules with Entourage" for help and examples:
