I'm trying to use the function COUNT entered as =COUNT(C5:C22,">0.

I'm trying to use =COUNT(C5:C22,">0") to count the entries in a column so
that I can get a true average of replies in other columns, but it never
resolves to a number.

This may not help but if you are counting text entries you can use
counta(c5:c22,">0"). this counts cells that contain information so be
careful that the range is correct.

Hi Nikki
this won't work :)
This formula counts the entries in cells C5:C55 AND adds '1' for your
second parameter ">0"

Use this formula

=COUNTIF(C5:C22,">0")

I'm trying to use =COUNT(C5:C22,">0") to count the entries in a colum
so
that I can get a true average of replies in other columns, but i
never
resolves to a number

Frank,
You are correct about the >0, but this works okay with out that doesn't it?
Also The countif doesn't seem to work on text entries- so if he had text
entries wouldn't he need to do a counta?
