IMAP account and seeing Address Book in Public Folders

I am running 10.4.2 and have upgraded Office 2004 with the latest
service pack. We have Exchange 2003.

I have been told to set up an IMAP account to access Exchange Server,
which is working fine. However, I cannot see the address book we have
in a public folder on the server as an address book.

I can see the address book in the mail view but all the adresses appear
as emails and have no content. I have subscribed to the relevant
public folder.

Does anyone have any clues about this. I'm stumped.

It was an incorrect advice you received. That advice (IMAP account) is for
either Entourage X and/or Exchange 5.5. I those cases you can access only
mail, nothing else. In Entourage 2004 SP2 and Exchange 2004, set up the
account as an exchange account according the the settings as outlined in the
Help. Then you will be able to access contacts, calendar, in an almost
infinite variety of ways, as in Outlook on a PC.

PLEASE always state which version of Microsoft Office you are using -
**2004**, X or 2001. It's often impossible to answer your questions
otherwise.

One minor caviat is that your Exchange administrator may have IMAP enabled
but Outlook Web Access (OWA) / WebDAV disabled, in which case you would only
be able to access your Exchange account as if it were an IMAP account. Or
you could ask your administrator to turn on that functionality...
