IMAP account errors after upgrade to Office 2004 from v. X

Hi - and hope you can help me. I just upgraded to Office 2004 and my
3 POP e-mail addresses fetch mail perfectly in the new version. When
I'm at work, I used Entourage v. X to check my IMAP work e-mail
account and it always worked fine.

Now, when I set up my work IMAP account in Office 2004, I can't do
anything and get error messages like: "The IMAP server's response was
missing the expected command and was not understandable. Error -17495.

There's nothing wrong with my company's e-mail server or network. I
can still check the same account using Apple's Mail program or an
online webmail site.

I obviously want to use Entourage to check all my accounts!

Thanks!

Joe

I also encountered the same error (-17495) after upgrading to Office
2004 for the mac. Microsoft's site or support line could not help.
Apple Mail continues to work just fine to access the IMAP account and
my local support does believe it is an Entourage problem. I did read
somewhere about an old Office v.X error related to IMAP and Entourage
expecting message flags to be "set" up a certain way on the server
side?

Thanks!

I contacted Microsoft tech support and they replied:

I understand that when you attempting to connect to IMAP4 server,
there is an error 17495. If I have misunderstood, please let me know.

I am sorry; this is a known issue currently when you try to connect to
Domino IMAP4 server. Our developer has fixed this problem, but I am
afraid you have to wait for the next release Office 2004 update to fix
it.

Bummer. Hopefully the update will come soon!
