IMAP and filing

Can someone please advise the best way to file emails when using IMAP.
A colleague files all her emails and have over 30 folders. This seems
to be slowing down for Entourage when retrieving and viewing. Any
ideas? It has got worse since I updated office using the latest
updates from Microsoft.

The number of folders or messages shouldn't slow down Entourage. A slowdown
might occur if you are checking for mail in multiple folders often. For my
IMAP accounts, I use a schedule to check for Inbox mail and only a few other
folders. The rest of the folders I check manually (by clicking on it in the
folder list) if I ever need mail in it.

You can also try a typical rebuild. Sometimes a fragmented database file can
slow things down.

The typical rebuild does seem to help however it is still slow. What
is seems to be doing when you click on the Inbox and even select so it
only checks the Inbox for new mail is checking a selection of the 124
folders that she has. Could this be to do with the way the folders
were set up? Maybe she was clicked on the Inbox when she set them It
does not seem to check all of her folders though.

Thanks

Ignore my last post, I have been looking at other peoples computers
and the same thing is happening with anyone who has got folders. What
it does when you click on the Inbox or send and receive it seems to
check through each folder and then hang on the last folder for up to
30 secs or even a minute. I have gone into the options on schedules
and the only box it is marked to check is the Inbox. Any ideas what I
can do next?

Thanks

Tools:Accounts, open the IMAP account, click Options tab, uncheck the last
checkbox which checks for messages in other folder. Hopefully that will do
it.
