IMAP and Live Sync: best setup?

P

Pitch

I'm current switching all my POP emails to IMAP.

·· There's an option to turn on "Live Sync." Help menu says:
"Maintains the connection to the IMAP server and immediately applies
any changes you make to the read, unread, or flagged status of
messages on the server. You can maintain the connection to only one
folder at a time."

Any disadvantage to having it on with all 9 IMAP accounts? Doesn't it
*have* to connect to the server the minute you click on a folder/
subfolder anyway? Here's the pref window for it:

I don't use this myself but I do believe that Live Sync must be
supported on the server as well. You can test this by enabling Live Sync
for one of your accounts and then sending an E-mail message to the
account. You should receive the message immediately (within a few
seconds of sending).

I'm not an IMAP expert so take this with a grain of salt.
