IMAP Draft Folder

I am running Entourage v.10.1.4 on Mac OS 10.3. I seem to have found a
glitch in Entourage when saving mail to the IMAP Drafts folder. When
creating a message and saving it as a draft, Entourage puts a copy of the
message not only in the Drafts IMAP folder but also in a local Drafts
folder on the Mac. If I edit the message in the Drafts IMAP folder and
send, it sends out the message OK but instead of sending a copy to the
Sent Items IMAP folder it sends it to the Trash IMAP folder. If I edit
and send the message on the local Drafts folder, it behaves correctly in
that a copy is sent to the IMAP Sent Items folder. My settings are set
to send drafts to the IMAP Drafts folder, sent items to the Sent Items
IMAP folder, etc. I know this has to be a glitch because I also have a
PC on my desk that I tested this with and Outlook 2003 does not behave in
this manner.

Question: Why does Entourage send a draft message to two locations,
local and IMAP? Why does Entourage send the draft message in the Drafts
IMAP folder to the Trash IMAP folder after it has been sent? Settings
are set correctly to have these messages sent to the appropriate place.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix the glitch (if there is one) or if
there will be a fix in the future for this issue?

It should not save a copy in the local Drafts folder if you have it set to
save to the IMAP Drafts folder in that account's Advanced pane. You're sure
you have that set correctly to the correct IMAP folder? There may be an
issue with some sort of delay to your server so as a fail-safe Entourage may
make a local copy when it thinks it can't make the server copy. (Is this
actually an Exchange account?)

Don't worry about the copy in the IMAP Trash. When a message is sent,
Entourage has to make a new copy for the IMAP Sent Items folder. Or do you
perhaps not have prefs set to save a sent message to the IMAP Sent Items but
only to the local Sent Items? Entourage would definitely have to trash the
server copy in that case. But even otherwise, the process of "moving" a
message form one server folder (Drafts) to another (Sent) is really making a
new copy in Sent and deleting the one in Drafts. Don't worry about it.
