IMAP "errors" and remembering folder locations

I'm a new Entourage user with two questions:

1. I'm trying to work with a FreeBSD server running courier-imapd. Other
MUAs (Mail.app, Outlook, Mozilla, etc.) work fine with this server.

Entourage throws an error every time it gets a message -- any message --
from the server. For example, the message "FETCH completed" generates an
"error" in Entourage.

Using LiveSync (or not) seems to have no impact on the frequency of these
messages.

Thanks in advance for any pointers on reducing or eliminating notifications
of these nonevents.

2. When moving a message to a folder, Entourage always displays a folder
list with INBOX selected as the default folder.

Is there some way Entourage can remember the last folder used?
