Hi all,
I've been having a problem for months, and I'm fed up with it, so I'd
love some advice. Entourage 11.2.3 (but it's been around for the last 2
releases at least), MacOS 10.4.6 (again, been around a while).
I've got 2 IMAP accounts setup. One IMAP account never has any
problems. The second IMAP account occasionally looses folders and
messages, but not permanently.
Let's say I send-recieve all. Then I click on the Inbox of IMAP acct #1
(the one with problems). All the messages in the Inbox will disappear.
I have to right-click on the Inbox folder and choose "Repair Message
List" for them to come back. Sometimes they instantly come back,
sometimes it crashes Entourage.
The other symptom is I have rules which take messages (like mailing
list emails) out of the IMAP Inbox folder and move them to another IMAP
folder on the same server. Sometimes, when I click on one of the other
folders, the folder disappears completely, and occasionally other
folders disappear at the same time. The more I click, the more things
disappear. If I right-click on the IMAP server, and choose "Recieve
Complete Folder List", it does nothing. I have to typically restart
Entourage, recieve complete folder list, then of course go through all
my rules because they're no longer pointing to the correct folders
(since the folders didn't exist for a while).
I never lose any email when this happens. I've repaired, rebuilt, etc.
at least a dozen times. Never any problems with my database. There's
never a problem with IMAP acct #2, nor with all the local folders in my
database.
I don't remember if I've ever deyleted the IMAP account and re-added
it. I may try that.
Any other suggestions? There's nothing in the MS KB, and I've seen no
posting like mine in the newsgroups. Correct me if I'm wrong though,
and point me towards an old article if there is a thread like this
before.
