IMAP message send error, disappear

I have looked for the answer to the following question -- so far I
haven't found anything useful. I set up an email address in Entourage
and initially had SMTP settings wrong, When I tried to send a message
I got an error and the message I attempted to send disappeared. I
didn't see it in the Outbo, in the Drafts folder or in the Trash. Is
this a bug, is this how it's supposed to work or I am missing
something? I have the SMPT settings working and everything is OK, but
I was hoping someone might be albe to shed some light on what I should
expect if I experience a message sending failure in the future. Will I
have to recreate the message from scratch or should I expect it to get
moved to someplace where I can find it? Thanks.

Make sure you check both Drafts folder - the one on your IMAP server and the
one "On My Computer." (You can define which one Entourage uses in the
account setup area.)

You can also use a Custom View to find it based on its subject or some other
element you remember.
