IMAP problem - can't read messages in inbox

I am unable to access any folders on my IMAP server in Entourage; Send and
Receive results in showing how many messages are in Inbox but if I click on
Inbox I still see a blank folder. It works without any problem in
Mail.app.

I have Entourage 2004 and OS X 10.3.5.

Here is the error message:

The IMAP server's response was missing the expected command and was not
understandable.

Mail could not be received at this time.

Error -17495
