IMAP Update List problem, Office X

Hi gang, I am having an issue with an IMAP inbox. When new mail arrives, the
inbox message list does not update to show the new mail. The only way it
shows up in the inbox, is if I switch to another folder, then switch back to
the inbox, or hit apple + L to refresh the list.

Does anyone have suggestions to help with this? My send and receive schedule
is set for 2 minutes. 'Refresh List' is not an option in Schedules, or I
would do that every couple minutes. I was looking at the accounts panel, and
noticed stuff about Live Sync. What the heck is that?

Thanks for the help. I am using Office X, Entourage 10.1.4

Open up your schedule (Tools > Schedules). In the Actions section I presume
you have:

Receive Mail -- from -- (Your IMAP Account) -- Click here for account options

Click on that "...account options" button and make sure Entourage is set to
synchronize your Inbox.

Some IMAP servers support the "IDLE" command, which allows your email
program to constantly poll the IMAP server for new mail and notify you
immediately. That's what Entourage is referring to as "Live Sync." If your
IMAP server does not support IDLE, it will not be able to inform you of mail
without you checking first.

You can find out if your server supports IDLE by Control-Clicking the server
in your folder list and choosing Get Info. You'll see a somewhat cryptic
list of all the commands the server supports.
