Import / Copy .pab file to Outlook Exchange or Express

I have a .pab file that was saved to dvd (and then saved onto my computer)
from a prior Microsoft Exchange Account that is no longer active. I have a
new Microsoft Exchange email account and email accounts in Microsoft Express.
How do I copy the .pab file into Microsoft Express or Exchange? I have
tried but Express does not pick up the correct file and Exchange gives me an
error message and reboots.

Thanks

I don't understand what you mean. You can't use Exchange with Outlook
Express.
Clarify what you're really using.

Clarify what you mean.
There is no such thing as Microsoft Express and Outlook Express can not be
run with Microsoft Exchange.

In my prior employment, we used Microsoft Exchange for email. My home
computer was set up so I could access the work network using Microsoft
Exchange. When I left that job, the IT department created a dvd of my
personal address book (saved as a .pab file). Until recently, I did not have
a Microsoft Exchange Server account so I was using Outlook Express for
emails. However, I continued to have access to my personal address book and
contacts through Microsoft Outlook offline. Apparently, as long as I left
that old Microsoft Exchange Server email account set up (although it was
inactive), I was able to view and access those files. When my new employer
was setting up my home computer so I could access my new work network on my
home computer, I deleted the old inactive Microsoft Exchange Server email
account (my old employer) because I did not realize that doing so would make
my personal address book and contacts disappear. I have been unable to
recover those files but was told I should be able to reload the personal
address book from the dvd. I saved the .pab file to my computer (and made
sure it is not set to "read only"). When I try to import it, it loads the
first couple of entries and then sends an error message and reboots. Does
this make sense? THANKS

It is highly unlikely that a PAB file would contain any entries you need
since PAB's has not been in use for over 6 years. I strongly doubt you data
was stored there.

The file extension says .pab and the file description says Outlook Data File
and the person that created the file told me it was a .pab file containing my
Personal Address Book. In my old job, in Microsoft Exchange, all of my
personal contacts were set up in a Personal Address Book. Thank you for your
comments. I will try to talk to the person who created the file.
