Import Date Fields

I have a text file with contact information. I can import all of the fields
using Outlook Import. 5 fields are not in Outlook. I can import them into
User Field 1, 2, 3, 4 or other existing Outlook fields. But 2 of them are
date fields. The User Fields are Text and I need to be able to sort by date
once the data is imported into Outlook. Any suggestions?
