Import Distribution List

I have received a distribution list via email as an attachment (Outlook 2000). The icon looks like a Business Card with the profiles of 2 people in the upper left corner. I am able to open the attachment which appears as a distribution list. But I can't seem to save it to my Conatcts folder in order to use the list. When I click on save & close and then go into my Contacts to try to use it, it isn't there.
