Import Entourage identities

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
I am swapping the computer of one of our account handlers. Installed on
the old computer is Office 2004 and Entourage is being used as her mail
software.
I've installed Office on the new computer and want to move the
identitiy across so that we don't lose any emails etc.
However, if I copy over the 'Main Identity' folder whilst none of the
programmes are running and then start up Entourage, it tells me the
rules file is corrupt and then quits. If I throw away the rules file it
then tells me the signature file is corrupt and quits.
If I throw away the whole 'Main Identity' folder and start from
scratch, then launch Entourage and import data from the old computer
across the network, it tells me the import was not successful and give
me error codes.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? and offer me a solution!
Cheers

On the original computer, make sure the database daemon is quit before
copying the identity folder - easiest way to quit this is to start up the
application 'activity Monitor', select the daemon and hit the 'quit' button.

Then. On the target computer, first make sure that the new install of office
is updated with all the latest updates from mactopia - if the source
computer was updated and the target computer isn't, that could well explain
the failures.

Then, make sure the identity folder goes in exactly the right place - office
is particular about what files are called and where they live.

Then, shutdown all apps, log out and back in again - this is important. It
will break the connection between any running apps (even the hidden ones,
like the database daemon, library files etc) and the files in the identity
folder that you have just changed.

Then start up entourage. Hopefully everything should be working OK.

Thanks Barry
I believe I've followed all the above steps, but on starting up
Entourage again I still got the 'Corrupt Rules' message so decided to
quit, throw away the identity again and start Entourage with a new
identity and forward all the messages on. However, somone (and don't
ask me how!) having thrown away the main identity again and started up
Entourage, all the emails and setting etc where there!!!! Puzzled? I
am. But I'm not complaining.
Thanks for your help, something worked!!
