Import French Entourage archive to English Entourage

G

Gabriel Radic

Hello,

I recently changed jobs and I'm having trouble importing an Office 2004
French database into an Office 2004 English.

Entourage/EN wouldn't open it, and I tried all the imaginable file or
folder renaming tricks.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Gabriel,

what happens if you place the French Identity folder inside
~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004 Identities? Can you open
Entourage and click on Entourage>Switch Identities to see if your French
identity is listed in the window that shows up? If that doesn't work, quit
Entourage and make sure the components inside your French Identity folder
have the correct English names, i.e. Database, Rules, Mailing Lists and
Signatures.

There is no need to *import* the identity; Entourage can read it natively,
so following the above suggestions should theoretically get you somewhere.

I believe that this is the key. All names inside the identity folder
have to match the English counterpart.
