Import from Outlook

W

Why o Why

What is the simplest way to import MS Outlook .pst files
to Entourage?
I'm interested in a single step procedure as I'm not
interested in playing with the computer for ever to
perform this task.
I have the .pst archive file available and I want to improt
all the information (email, calendar and contacts). Is
this possible?
Why is this not available as a standard feature in the
Entourage in the first place? Yeah, know about the
different database stuff, but it is the same company's
product...

Cheers for all the replies

No, it's not possible. PST files are a proprietary MS format and are not
handled by any other application apart from Outlook.

The next best option is to get Paul Berkowitz's shareware 'import Export
Entourage' scripts from www.scriptbuilders.net.

These scripts will allow you to transfer the contacts, tasks, calendar
events etc, but will not transfer mail. There are instructions on how to
transfer mail by other means in the readmes for the script suite though.

Bear in mind, however, the scripts will not work on the PST files, you will
need to have access to Outlook to get the data out in a form that can be
understood by the scripts.
Why is this not available as a standard feature in the

You can send feedback to the developers on this issue. Use the last menu
item under the 'Help' menu - "Send Feedback on Entourage". This message will
go directly to the developers. The more people that request this feature the
more likely it is to be implemented.
