Import into Project actual hours worked from Excel

I want to try to automate the updating of actual hours worked by collecting
data from an Excel file where each person on the project would enter their
actuals hours worked against their respective WBS element(s). Is it
possible to import this "actual hours worked" data from Excel into Project's
Work Table?

I dont know of an import process for timephased data (that is not to say
that there is nothing out there)

However, I have configured the resource usage screen speicfically for cut
and paste between excel and project - the consolidation of the resource time
is done at the excel level

Proabably not what you were looking for .. but might help

Hello,
It's quite easy if you have only one resource on each task. It'll need VBA
development if you have several resources by tasks.
In the first case: File / Open / Type : Microsoft Excl Workbook(xls)
Then create a map between the Excel columns and the Project columns. this
map should include the Unique ID field to use it as the Merge Key.
