Importing Calendar Data to Entourage

Jack McDonald

When I try to import calendar data (Date, Title, Description, Start,
End, category), why is that the there are no fields available to direct
the data (Date, Title, Description, Start, End, category) to the proper
place.

Thx

There's nowhere to import calendar data in Entourage, except from another
program, of which the only calendar-type programs are Entourage 2001 and
Now-Up-To-Date. It sounds like you are trying to import from a
tab-or-comma-delimited text fie? Or Excel? There's nowhere to do that (are
you trying "Contacts from a text file?" That's just for contacts - address
book.)

It can only be done via AppleScript. My shareware scripts

Export-Import Entourage X

at

MacScripter.net <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/>

will import calendar events from a tab text file (Calendar Import to X
script). You can make the adjustments in Excel, and use the Excel Import
Adapter script in the Xcel Extras folder to help you. You will probably also
need the Excel Merge Columns script if you have date and time separate. It's
all explained in the ReadMe included - read the Entourage section and the
Excel section near the end. (Or you may be able to use the "Other Calendar"
script without bothering with Excel at all - read the "Other" section too.)
