Describe your Outlook version, the file type of the file you're trying to
import, and exactly how you're trying to import it.

"Doesn't recognize the header record" means what exactly? Was there an error
message of any kind? You do have a header record correct (first row
containing column names for all subsequent rows)?

Far too many possibilities so in the interest of speed and avoiding endless
questions:

Save your worksheet as a CSV file and try to import that file
a) if it works - your "named range" likely is incorrectly set
b) if it doesn't - contents of your first row likely is not a "header
row" and the data in the fields is causing the issue - go back and add a new
row at the beginning of the file with field names for each column being
imported - i.e. "FirstName","LastName","Some Field","Some Other Field" etc

Any follow up question regarding this should also include Outlook versions
and more specifically this is Outlook or Outlook with BCM (2 different
import/export engines).

See http://www.slipstick.com/Tutorials/import/import.htm - I'm guessing you
don't have the named range done correctly.
