Importing contacts/Calendar from Office XP

J

Jim Nicholson

I'm migrating to Office 2004/Mac from Office XP. My mail store is on an
IMAP server, so that's no problem, but I have a substantial # of contacts in
"personal folder files" on the PC. I also have been keeping my calendar in a
PST.

I'd like to move the contacts and calendar events into Entourage, but I can't
figure out how to do it. I've saved the individual folders from outlook into
PST files, but I don't see an option to import them.

Is there a way to do this?

You'd need to get my shareware "Export-Import Entourage X" scripts (they
work also for 2004) at

MacScripter.net <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/>

Read the Installation and Outlook sections of the ReadMe.

The best way I can think of is to use Outlook2Mac or a similar tool to
move your data to iCal/vCard files, then import them into Entourage
using Paul Berkowitz's import/export scripts.

Cheers,

No, the Export-Import scripts will do all that for you much better than
Outlook2Mac - for contacts, calendar, tasks and notes. (Outlook2Mac does
email better, since mine don't do them at all, but give instructions on a
free way to do it.)

ics files brought over by Outlook2Mac will be missing several fields when
brought into Entourage (or iCal). My Export-Import Entourage X scripts bring
them all over perfectly. Furthermore, they won't work with .ics files
anyway. (You'd have to import the .ics files into iCal, then use a different
script - Sync Entourage-iCal, to get them over to Entourage. The translation
to iCal will lose a lot of data. You're much better off using the
Export-Import Entourage X scripts, Outlook section.
