Importing contacts

I am trying to import my contacts. I exported them from the Windows
(PC) system at my work via Excel document. Then when I import to
Entourage, it asks me which fields to map -- and I can see the
contacts are there. Then when I finish -- they don't show up in my
address book. Help, anyone? Thanks.

I¹ve never had to map fields so don¹t know what to suggest.
