Importing emails to Entourage 11.4.0 on a Mac 10.5.2 from Outlook

I have been recently converted to a Mac, and have been running MS Outlook on PCs for years. I need to import my old email files into Entourage and have had no joy at all. I have the "pst" file, I have even successfully copied the "pst" Outlook file into Outlook Express, but if that's the way, how do I then import the resulting "dmg" files into Entourage? I do not run Exchange Server on the PC, just MS Office Professional. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks, James

Would that be Outlook Express for windows or OE for Mac?

Check out the options on the "Convert Mail from Windows to Mac" Page:

Hi Diane,

Thanks for this. I am new to a Mac (OS 10.5.2) and have a Windows 2000 XP laptop which has my old based PC MS Office Outlook 2003 emails which I wish to import into Entourage on the Mac.
I do have the PST. I also exported the same MS Outlook 2003 files into MS Outlook Express 6 on the same laptop as I thought that might be an intermediate step - apparently not! I don't have an earlier version of Outlook (i.e. the 2001 edition mentioned in the blog)

I have looked at the files you suggest, but can't see anything that helps.

Do you have a suggestion? Your help is very much appreciated!

I might also tell you that I have tried installing VMWare Fusion onto the Mac. I managed to successfully load Windows XP Home onto the VM and then installed the Office MS Outlook 2003 as above.
All ran very well until I downloaded the "free" VM Fusion upgrade. The VM now crashes whenever I try to do anything! VMWare seem unable to sort it and have told me that I need to buy the "full" i.e. not an OEM version of XP Home!
This is madness, as here in the UK the boxed edition sells for around £200!

Looking forward eagerly to any thoughts you might have!

Does Thunderbird see your files to import. I've never done this so can only
quote back what users have suggested. What about Little Machines? I think
you can demo it.

For help with VMWare Fusion and general Mac questions:

I suggest joining the Mac-L list. It's a general Mac talk list. It's
moderated so no trolls and no spam. It's one of the oldest Mac lists around
and a great place to get help with most things Mac.

<http://www.listmoms.net/lists/#mac-l>

Read list rules. They are strict about quoting back. Trim replies.

The MacOSX list is also a good list and has strict rules. No rich text and
no HTML. Many of the same people are on both lists.
