Importing external Calendar items from .txt file - no can do?

I downloaded a file from the San Diego Padres' site - a comma delimited text
file - designed for Outlook - for import into my Calendar.

Using the Import function, I find that Entourage only expects a CONTACTS
import and has no idea how to handle Calendar items. Thinking it was a
problem with the view I was in, I changed to Calendar view. Same issue.

Is this for real? Entourage will only import Contacts from an external
file? This seems utterly ridiculous to me.

Can anyone enlighten me, or have I just self-enlightened? :)

That is the situation at the moment.

There is no 'standard' for any data except for contacts.

Calendar events can be imported if they are in .ics files.
