Does anyone know how to include a hyperlink in an email? You would think it
would be front and center on the HTML editing bar. But I don't see it and
Entourage 2004 help doesn't seem to have it (even though it's in the
glossary).
What do you mean by "include"? You can just type or paste it in. It will
become an underlinked hyperlink when you send the message (it remains
editable until you do send - that's why you don't see the link yet).
If you "insert from a browser", the reason why it may still be in a glossary
somewhere is because Entourage 2001 and X did have this feature - inserting
hyperlinks from the current page or favorites in Internet Explorer, which
used to be the default browser for the Mac. When Apple introduced Safari
during Jaguar days, making it the default browser, Microsoft decided there
was no longer any point in continuing development of IE Mac, which ended. So
when the next version of Entourage was finalized - 2004 - they removed the
the IE insertion features. (For all they know, later OS versions like Tiger
introduced during the lifetime of Office 2004 might not even include IE at
all, and certainly not as default or in the Dock. Almost no one would be
using it even if still included.) Apparently it was not a simple matter to
switch the functionality over to Safari, at least not immediately. Probably
the "Favorites" option would not transfer easily. You can still get the
"Insert from front page" feature to work from Safari by using Barry
Wainwright's AppleScript "Insert Safari URLs" (including a keyboard
shortcut) available at
