importing from Palm OS to Entourage

I've been trying to import my PALM contacts/calendar into Entourage X
using the "import assistant". Palm OS does show up as an application
so I click on that. As it searches for my app. it finds it. I also
find "user data" file but the assistant will not allow me to "open" it
(or any other app or file) to import.

I did some research and some documents say that Palm OS 4.0 should be
compatible and another doc. I found said that only Palm 2.0-2.3 (I
think) is importable into Entourage.

Any advice? Ideally I'd like to use Entourage to manage all of my
contacts, email, calendar, etc. and synch it up w/ my Handspring.

Getting a little frustrated w/ contradictory info. If there is a
workaround please let me know.

thanks!

Import will only work with Palm Desktop 2.X. Your best best is to simply
install the Handheld Sync conduit for Entourage and then sync your Palm.
This will "import" all of the data from your Palm into Entourage.

I read that the first synch action defaults for Entourage content to
overwrite the handheld. Any experience with this? Is it possible to
change the default?

Yes, you can customize the synchronization options. After you install the
Handheld Synchronization for Entourage X
<http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx#OfficeX>, you should follow
these instructions to change the settings before synchronization:

I would set all of the items to "Handheld overwrites Entourage" if you don't
mind losing existing Entourage data, with the "Do once and then synchronize"
option checked.
