Importing Holidays

I just read an old (more than a year old) thread about importing Holidays
into Entourage. I had NO idea that this could be done. I always wondered
why they weren't automatically there, but didn't realize that there was a
way to bring them in.

However, I'm confused--why is there now two categories--"Holiday" and
Holiday-United States". Is there a difference, do I need them both if the
content is the same?

Hi Michelle,
since holidays are country-specific, Entourage automatically creates a new
category for these items. You can of course delete that new category if you
prefer to use the more general "Holiday" category only. Note that deleting a
category does not delete the Entourage items associated with it; if you do
that, Entourage will use other categories assigned to that event, or simply
revert to None. So if you delete the Holiday-United States category, and
since the calendar entries you've just imported are also assigned to the
Holiday category, these entries will still be categorised as "Holiday". To
delete the new category, go to Edit>Categories>Edit Categories, select the
new category and click on the delete button.
