I just got Entourage and I'm looking for a way to importing my Hotmail
contacts list into entourage.

I've tried to copy and paste the list of contacts into a Word document,
but doesn't seem to be working.

Please, could somebody help me.

Thank you,

Fabiana

If you have an MSN account, you can use the MSN for Mac OS X client to
download your contacts, then drag them to a folder on your desktop to export
them, and finally drag the export files into Entourage to import them. You
can sign up for a free account, and then immediately cancel after you've
done this.

If there's any way to send or save contacts from the Hotmail site as vCards
or even a tab/comma delimited text file, that will work too.

But unfortunately the comma delimited text files not only use Outlook
Windows fields - which you can match up pretty closely in Entourage's
File/Import/Contacts - they also surround all the fields in quotation marks.
That means first name, last name, every element of a postal address, etc.
And Entourage won't import categories. And "special" characters get changed.

You might want to get my "Export-Import Entourage X" scripts from

MacScripter.net <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/>

The Outlook Contacts to EvX and Contacts Import into X scripts will import
those comma-delimited files cleanly, no quotation marks, special characters
and categories intact.
