I haven't used Entourage X in a while, and when I did, you couldn't get
single .ics events out of iCal (Panther) - only entire calendars, which
would not import into Entourage X (although they do in Entourage 2004 11.2
and later).

In Tiger (OS 10.4) you can export a single iCal event to an .ics file by
dragging it out of iCal. I _think_ you can import it into Entourage by
dragging onto the Entourage icon in the dock. (That works in all versions of
Entourage 2004, at least; try it in X, I think it should there too.)

It opens to an event window. It _looks_ OK, but if you save and close the
window, you'll see it shows up in the calendar at the wrong time. That's
because iCal .ics and Entourage .ics record the time zone differently.
Entourage can't understand the time zone of the import so gives it none
which for some reason defaults to 1 hour earlier - maybe summer time. So
before you close the window (You'll now notice it has a banner saying the
time zones don't match) go to Event->Time Zone and set it to your local time
zone.
